Would you mind explaining how you got make this shader, since that Corona don't have SSS? I tried to create something similar but didn't work. thanks

You can check the original thread in the corona forums - I posted a screenshot of the material there ;)

Great... Very convincing indeed! What SOFTWARE... and what is "alpha stage renderer "?

It was made with 3dsmax, corona renderer and eyeon fusion for compositing :)

That is a mouth full... I was asking, because I worked on a similar piece in Cinema4D. Not the easiest thing to replicate... You want to see it? Dont know what 'corona' and 'eyeon fusion' is??

sure, I'll have a look :)
Corona is a renderer for 3dsmax and fusion is a compositing package like Nuke or (in a way) After Effects

This is the best rendition of grapes I've ever seen reproduced in a 3D render. Absolutely nothing about this gives it away as CG. It's a perfectly photorealistic render. WOW. Brilliant in so many ways.

thanks a lot, but there are several things I could name which are not "realistic" ;)

it's completely procedural, so it's a mix of different noises and falloffs ;)

Going through your gallery after seeing your marshes work ;)

I like this one too. The reflections of the grapes are spot on. I really like the 'smudgy' waxy parts on the grapes, very lifelike.
With (a bit more) SSS it may even look totally real. Perhaps the renderer you're testing doesn't support it? I suppose you can't disclose its name :)

thanks for your comment! It's "corona" (the renderer) and yes, SSS is currently not implemented yet - so it's translucency what you see here :)
